How to Make Espresso at Home with a Krups
Making Two Latte Espresso Drinks
- Buy coffee
- buy any coffee that is darkly roasted
- grind coffee very fine (for 15 to 20 seconds or buy pre-ground espresso coffee)
- Milk
- you will need milk; 2% is good, so is nonfat or whole or even ½&½ for richer drinks
- Extras
- chocolate; syrup or powder will work

- cinnamon powder is good to put on top, so is nutmeg, vanilla powder, or chocolate powder

- Brewing
- put coffee in holder

- lightly pack it down

- wipe away grounds from rim

- put holder in machine

- turn holder so handle lines up between "lock" lines

- put water in machine

- close top

- make sure steam valve is closed

- turn on machine

- Steaming milk
- fill container ½ full

- start steaming when coffee is ¾ done brewing
- put nozzle just under surface of milk

- slowly turn on valve until open fully
- to make foam milk while steaming:
- lower milk container so nozzle comes just above surface
- if you lower the milk too far, milk will go everywhere
- stop heating milk at around 160°
F or when you can no longer hold bottom of milk

- Releasing pressure
- right after you are done steaming milk, turn off machine
- submerse nozzle in a large glass of water
- open valve to release steam
- just before steam is done remove glass to remove water from stem
- Mixing Drinks
- hold back foam of milk and pour milk into two glasses

- stir in sugar and chocolate if desired
- add in coffee to both glasses
- scoop on foam milk
- put on toppings if desired
- Drink up
